19 of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been won on hard surfaces

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his maiden title for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.

The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a challenging period, winning just a single victory at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.

Medvedev's varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in particular - resulted in him exiting of the elite rankings and finally parting ways with former trainer Cervara.

Presently working with his coach and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought three-set triumph over challenger Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's maiden title after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt after spring of the previous year.

Victory also indicates Medvedev has achieved 21 championships at 21 various tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my children together, so to win a championship is really nice," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my child her name, because the maiden victory I won when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his last six title deciders, comprising in Halle in the past months.

The player's counter-punching approach and regular outbursts on court had led some to wonder if his capacity to compete at the highest level was finished.

However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and compete positively, reinforced by an improved serve.

Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the tricky Moutet, taking four of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.

The pair swapped breaks in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his initial tour title, seized the initiative to push for a final set.

The opponent saved 4 initial break points in a close final set before the Russian broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Appropriately, Medvedev secured victory with a rally at the front of the court, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
